I don’t normally post on Mondays, but I decided to participate in Rachel Firasek’s first MMM Blog Hop today. 1) I have multiple cat-ears headbands. (I wore them all the time in high school and college, and still wear them during every performance I work. They started as an inside joke, but soon morphed into a sign of my goofy confidence and as an easy way for the actors to find me backstage.)
2) I’m addicted to food challenge/race/competition shows on the Food Network. (Did anyone else catch the finale on The Great Food Truck Race last night?! Be it the cake challenges, Cupcake Wars, Chopped, The Next Food Network Star, Iron Chef, etc—I’m hooked on them. I blame my younger brother…)
3) I want to learn and am trying to teach myself sign language. (I started learning some ASL when I was working at a daycare and we taught simple words to the kids—like please, thank you, mother, father, cookie, etc. I want to take an official class someday, but for now I’m using the internet, some flashcards, and a friend who knows it to learn.)

That's a lot of awesome sharing! I used baby sign language with both my daughters when they were very little, and it worked amazingly well. It was awesome getting to converse with them before they could really talk. Good luck learning ASL! For myself, I've been trying to teaching myself guitar. Limited success, so far, LOL, but I kinda love it!

I took sign language classes in high school. I loved it. I'm not sure I could remember a lot of it now. I should have stayed in practice lol.

Well, I really need to learn ASL. Due to much needed surgery, I'm now deaf in my right ear. At some point I figure I'll go totally deaf - ASL would be a good thing to learn. Of course, now that budgets are non-existent in schools, they're cutting things like that in my state's community colleges. I just need to hang on for a little longer, lol...
